Malcolm X

What in trigued you? What angered you? How does this compare to the writing of Martin Luther King, Jr?

I think that Malcolm X. and MLK had a very different outlook on civil rights. Malcolm X. tended to lean towards the angry and aggressive side, while MLK was very patient with dealing on this subject. Martin Luther King had a way of dealing with the white conflict in a peaceful way and tried to convince that fighting between the two races were not necessarily needed. Malcolm X. had a very different idea about dealing with the white people and the problems they encountered. He thought that since the white people were enemies they should stay enemies and to fight against them as enemies. Malcolm X. moved away from this issue to Harlem where he then turns to violence. He ends up in jail and then religion takes place upon him. He started to study Islam religion in his time in jail. I think that the way Malcolm X. handled this civil rights issue was the worst way you could come at it. Turning to violence just makes everything worse and the issue will never be resolved. The way MLK handled it was a very different and yet a successful way.

Sarah,

I agree with you on the fact that Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X handled things differently then each other. It is true that MLK took his time on what he worked on in the past and he didn't want to take an aggressive and violent approach to anything. This is probably why he is ultimately more famous and recognized today.

well detailed blog, good job!
