3. Is having a lot of material goods a help or hindrance to happiness? Why are some people able to be happy with a little, while others with more are miserable? Having a lot of material goods can either be a good or bad thing. It depends on what kind of life you have. Some people think that having a lot of material goods will make their life better. They believe that if they have a husband and a huge house, they will live a happier life than not having either. Sometimes, this is true for people and sometimes not true for people. People can change and once they change they might not be happy with what they have and then want something better. The people with a lot of material belongings are usually rich and have money to spend. The people who aren’t so rich don’t want to and can’t spend their money on expensive things that they might not need. We all know the feeling of getting something brand new and popular. You feel so good and you want to show it off to your friends that you got something pleasant. Personally, I think its good to have something nice once in a while. I think that if I lived my everyday life spending money on things I don’t need, it would bother me and I would not enjoy the things I bought. I would rather spend my money on something that is useful and something that is meaningful. If you have a lot of material belongings like, Juicy Couture or Coach, it shows people what kind of person you are and what kind of money situation you are in. I think that people can live a wonderful life without living with a lot of material goods. You just need to love what you have and take advantage of what you have because everything you have might be gone one day. You just need to live life the way you want to and if you want to have a lot of expensive things to make you happy then go ahead. Some people are brought into families that are all about expensive things and brand names, and to some people, it does not make them happy. When you have a lot of money, you are put into a separate crowed. The people are just like you and have the same amount of money as you do if not more. People can make expensive thing a great thing in life or they can make it a bad thing. And it depends on how happy they make their selves out to be.
