Are all people created equal?

Sarah Rodriguez

Are all people created equal?

Yes and No. I think that we were all created equally but some people are treated differently than others. This makes a big impact on people if we say that we are all created equal because how can you show us this. Some people are better writers than others, better singers, better athletes, smarter, taller, prettier, more gifted and not so gifted. Everyone in this world is different but that does not make him or her equal to the person sitting next to him or her. Would you say a person who is homeless equal to a person like Bill Gates? No, Bill Gates obviously has something to live for and has a life that people would die for. A person like Bill Gates has money has a house and probably has family that is very close to him. People that are homeless strive for the things Bill Gates has. Another example would be people with mental disabilities. Do you think all people are created equally now? Some People with disabilities will never get to see the world or have a chance living normally like other people would. I think that people would like to think people are created equally because they never want to show how unfair this world could be to people and how unfair people’s lives compare to others lives. A lot of people would disagree with this question because they think the people who are homosexuals are not created equal. They think that they have broken the rule and make a horrible choice that shows the wrong way to live. The definition of equality is the state of being equal, esp. in status, rights, and opportunities. I have done numerous papers on homosexuals between each side.

I also think that people can be created equal because we all have a chance in life to make a goal and try to live for that goal. I am not saying that homeless people don’t live for a goal but they all had a life once and they probably made a mistake to make them live like they do. People all have their own opinions about whether people are created equal or not and that’s one question where I think it is different for everyone. Even though I have not thought deeply into this question, I still believe that some people are created equal but others are not.

Sarah, the average age of a homeless person in Indianapolis is nine years old. Most of the time, homelessness is out of the control of the homeless and is not a result of decisions they made.
