FEED BLOG.

One thing I found very disturbing in the book was the way that the kids were and how they lived. They were depending on their feeds, not their brains or their intelligence. Sure, of course the feeds that these kids are receiving are very interesting, but I think they are not the way these kids should be growing up and living their life. Especially because they are not experiencing things they should be. They are being told what to do and how to do it rather then doing it their self. Another thing I don’t understand is how they can message each other when they’re either far from each other or right next to each other and not talking. It’s just like society today but worse, kids have cell phones and computers to talk to each other with rather than talking to each other in real life. Another very disturbing aspect of the book was the lesion all of the kids had. These lesions are basically open sores all over their bodies ranging between small and large. The kids think that these lesions are popular and that they are cool to have. EW! I could never think about having a lesion on my body and think it was good looking. The guys in the book talked to each other about how the lesions looked sexy and good on Quendy when she had them all over her body. I think that it is very weird and confusing how they author decided to have the lesions as a normal thing for these people. I am not very sure if I find anything in this book very exiting or enlightening. I love the idea of new technology but I am in love with the past and how the old days used to be. I loved it when computers were not very popular like they are now. People would talk to each other and have good times before all this new technology and now kids are just on their computers everyday, all day. I am very exited to see where new and improved technology takes us, but at the same time, we are loosing a lot from it. Like we talked about in class, we are obviously loosing something when we only look for technology and everything is based on technology. It’s evident that my favorite character in the book would be Violet and her dad. They are my favorite character because I feel like I can relate to her in a way. She is a person who was never used to having technology in her house or the feeds in her brain because she was too poor to afford them. She was to use to learning things from her dad they way people used to learn instead of the feeds teaching you everything. I can relate to her because we use to be the family who wasn’t into technology and then we finally started to become a lot more familiar with technology. I think this book tore me in different directions ,good and bad.
